Elk
Site #4
This life-sized elk serves as a centerpiece of the park’s sculptural Menagerie. Built using traditional ferrocement techniques, the artist utilized thousands of hand-placed amber glass shards to suggest the dappled coat of a forest dweller. By integrating real antlers into the concrete form, the work bridges the gap between the natural world and the hand-built environment, standing as a testament to the patient, obsessive craft of the self-taught builder.
